Meredith McCrory-Laws has never taken a ballroom dance lesson. That is exactly why she said yes.
Originally from Rhode Island, she has called Kansas City home for nearly 15 years. The move started with her husband and deepened when her daughter and son put down roots here too. Her parents taught a simple rule: take on the challenge and finish it. Four older brothers made sure resilience was not optional.
She is lucky in the people around her. She loves hosting an eclectic circle of friends who have become family. Two thoroughly spoiled French Bulldogs handle the comic relief.
Across more than three decades in mortgage, legal, title, and technology, Meredith has led strategy, marketing, and business development—work that comes down to connecting the right people to the right opportunities. Today she serves in executive leadership and advisory roles focused on strategy and growth.
Her view of confidence is straightforward. It is not having all the answers. It is trusting yourself to find the way, learning from what does not go as planned, and keeping your footing while you move. That is why Girls on the Run Greater Kansas City fits. Meredith believes every girl should recognize her strengths, know her voice matters, and learn to trust herself.
Dine & Dance is her chance to live that belief out loud: become a beginner again, step into the unfamiliar, and show that courage is not about being ready. It is about starting. She may be new to the dance floor. She intends to make every step count.
Meredith is grateful to the BMA Foundation for building a platform that brings people together behind causes that matter. She admires Brian’s entrepreneurial spirit, his willingness to take chances, and his devotion to animals—something she shares.
